Wishing Ronnie the best of luck!

Last month I had the privilege of photographing Ronnie and Leanne’s wedding at the Manor House.  This is a beautiful venue in Mason, Ohio and it made a great backdrop for this couple’s amazing day.   To say that this couple is fun would be doing them a great disservice.  This couple is a BLAST!  They have so much fun with each other, and it makes it easy for me to capture great images.  Sometimes, you never know if a couple is really in love on their wedding day.  I know it’s strange to hear someone say that but sometimes you wonder.  It may only be that the stress is getting to them, who knows.  This couple, I had not one doubt that they were completely and totally in love with each other.  Which brings me to wishing Ronnie luck.  Ronnie is heading off to basic training in the morning and well I know they are going to miss each other something fierce.  Ronnie thank you so very much for serving our country!  Leanne, you hang tight girl!  You are an awesome woman to stand behind one of our soldiers!

Enjoy this couples images:

The first look

The bridesmaids said we had to recreate Leanne’s mom’s bridal portrait, hopefully we got it on the mark!

Ronnie wanted a mafia shot.  Well this one they are smiling but I still like it.  We have a stern faced shot as well.

Unfortunately I do not have the card for the creator of this cake.    She did an fantastic job.

One vendor that really stood out for me at this wedding was the DJ Doug who was from Partypleaserdj.com

He really knew how to get everyone out on the dance floor:

And we can’t do a wedding post without a ring shot:

Eaton, Ohio Can Be a Beautiful Location

Eaton can be an amazing little location if you let it be.  You will see what I mean when you look at how awesome Leslie and Stefaan’s engagement pictures are!  Leslie called me last month to set this session up while Stefaan was in town.  Stefaan is from Belgium and I would have to say that is the farthest anyone has traveled to be in front of my lens!  (Oh wait, I forgot about the guys from Australia, oops.) I know, I know he was really here to see his girl Leslie.  They reallyare sweet couple, and super easy on the eyes.  I am partial to redheads since my husband is a redhead.  Their beautiful red hair had me captivated the entire shoot and I was constantly looking for ways to get the sun to backlight their beautiful locks.  This was a little difficult as the clouds were thick and threatening rain most of the shoot.  We moved quickly and had to dodge a few sprinkles but we got in an amazing shoot.  These two were pros in front of the camera, I wish everyone could be so at ease.  I wish them the best of luck for an amazing happy life together.

The story of love

I started my photography business about four years ago. I had been asked many times over the years to be the one to document life’s events. Everyone always expected me to be the one who would have a camera available if we needed it. This was a fair assumption since, well, I did always have a camera. After being asked so many times to photograph events for people I decided that, hey maybe I could make a buck or two at this! I had shared this ambition with some people and quickly had people calling for my services. Two of those people were Brian and Kim. Brian and Kim were getting married and needed a wedding photographer. FANTASTIC! I wanted to shoot weddings! I photographed Brian and Kim’s wedding four years ago this coming September.

Fast forward to last October and Kim called me to do her maternity pictures.  You could see this momma and daddy were completely in love with this baby girl already.  Then this past January and I had the privilege to photograph their family’s new addition.  My what cute angel she is!  She has these petite little features, and her eyes will absolutely draw you in. She is the apple of her daddy’s eye for certain, and her momma’s pride and joy. I knew these two would make fantastic parents and they have proven me right so far. I can’t guarantee for any parent how they’ll handle the terrible twos, but these two I think will go through it with flying colors. This little bundle is a lucky little girl to have these two for a mommy and daddy.

I look forward to watching baby D grow up and be a visible sign of this great couple’s love story.  Kim and Brian thank you for allowing me to continue to be a part of your family’s story.

Ok, ok, I know, let us see the pictures already. Well wait no longer, here is the debut of baby D:

My poor neglected blog

Yes, it has been a while since I posted.  This place has been CRAZY busy this fall, and holiday season.  Beyond the busyness of the business, three people in the house had surgery, including yours  truly.  I want to give you all a little sampling of what I’ve been up to over the last several months, but not all at once.  I think today we’ll just toss up some Christmas image, simply because well Christmas is only three days away!  Are you ready?  Are the presents all bought or are you one of those last minute shoppers?  If the presents are bought, are they wrapped?  Today I was planning on wrapping while the kids had their last day of school for the year.  However, it was super icy today so the schools canceled for the day. Way to throw a wrench into a mom’s plans!  Now the plan is to take the one child who doesn’t have gifts for the siblings out to shop.  Then a trip to see Santa and lights tonight.

Now, back to the images.  Here are some of our holiday sessions over the last couple of weeks.

Sweet Bundle of Gooshie Goodness Dayton, Ohio, Cincinnati, Ohio Newborn Photography

Emily stopped in the studio mid August for a maternity session.  I’ll pop one or two of those into this blog for good measure.  She mentioned while she was here that she would like to bring her daughter back after she was born.  I expected to hear from her in about  a month to schedule the newborn session.   I had finished up her maternity pictures, and they  ready for pick-up and I got a call back.  Could she pick them up when she brought in baby B for her newborn session!!  OH MY!  YAY  This little cutie has the most beautiful lips.  Her skin color is lovely, and no baby acne!  (You mommies out there know what I’m talking about).  Baby B was so good during our session.  I could have just curled up on a couch and held her all day given the opportunity.  She is such a sweet little girl!  She’s already scheduled to come back for her three month pictures and I can’t wait to see her personality develop.

Oh have I mentioned how much I just love little tiny babies?  Check her out:

Senior Photography at Cox Arboretum, and Sycamore Park

I wanted to title this blog post just “FUN!”, because that is what this session was, with Miss Sadie and her crew!  Yes I said CREW!  The girl has some great friends and we had a blast shooting some fun group shots.  Sadie and her grandmother came to visit me in early August to get a feel for my work, talk over ideas, and make a plan.  The first plan was we are going to do more than one session, because they like variety.  Our first session the plan was to try to capture flowers, her prom dress, her friends, and most of all HAVE FUN!  I think we accomplished all of that.

We are going to meet up again in October to get some great fall shots.  For now I will share with you Sadie’s energy, personality, and her crew.  Thank you all for a great fun day!!!  Sadie I’m looking forward to see what we can come up with next month.
